Depends where the headache is...

Pain in the suboccipital region is often due to tension in the suboccipital cervical muscles. If it's higher up, in the occipital lobe it's probably due to eyesight strain.

Pain in the temporal region is usually due to dehydraton.

Depending on where the pain is located, the treatment should address the issue directly.

Usually if I have a bad headache I'll take headache medication and then turn the lights out and rest with a cool washcloth over my forehead, after a little while I'll start feeling better or getting some relief. Hopefully this advice helps you.
