Even though as human beings we are what scientist call ventral, meaning that we need to be hugged and touched by others, do you think that voyeurs detach themselves from our physical need for human contact? Are they satisfied with loving themselves?
A true voyeur who gets all of his/her kicks from watching porn or peeping Tom activity could likely fit this profile IF the voyeurism is their only sexual outlet.
The more casual voyeur who uses porn to get themselves through dry spells but are still looking for the real thing have likely not detached in this way though I suppose they move that way could over time.
There are also those for whom watching is a lead in to physical action (watching a partner get off and then joining them, watching a couple before joining them in a threesome). It's still technically voyeurism but would not involved the kind of detachment you discuss. I suppose even getting off while watching others (who know you are there, I'm not condoning peeping Toms) still has that element of connection even if you don't get physical with those who have let you into their intimate space.
