LGBT Society or Human Society?

Do you think there should be a separate LGBT society, with our own school system, hospitals, police and fire department, retail stores, etc...? It may be a utopia as the burden on a LGBT society as a whole might be way too expensive, but if given the choice, would you like to separate LGBT from Hetero Societies?

omg, no! segregation? that's such an ugly concept. no matter what the intent, it would feel more like an iternment camp for gays. at best it would lead to an attitude of "us and them" - in my opinion, that's going in the wrong direction.

I think we've come a long way in terms of society accepting us, but there is still a long way to go. If we segregate ourselves we will turn back instead of going forward, or are we? How do you see cities like the Castro in San Francisco or Wilton Manors in Florida (where I live)? Are they an utopia way of gay living? I don't think so, but it sure is fun. I also think my city brings awareness to the community as a whole... these days, it does not matter if I am in my little ghetto or outside of it, as people seem to be a lot more tolerant than when I was growing up, there are more and more tv shows depicting gay couples and gay lifestyles, and we owe that to LGBT organizations and to gay cities all over the country.

It is true, though, that every coin has two sides. And I may be more mature about the whole concept than a younger version of myself, but that is why I posed the question...

I think it would be disastrous. The closest analogy would be Israel which was formed after World War 2 and has been in a state of war ever since. We can only be fully accepted when we're a part of an all inclusive society.
I don't even like the idea of gay ghettoes,I class them as a form of self segregation but I do understand why they exist in this day and age.
If we want to see an end of homophobia we can't very well set up a society which to all intents and purposes is based on heterophobia.
