Hi there,

In case you missed it, with June being "Pride Month" we decided to run a new competition with LGBTQ themes.

Full details are here: https://forum.lushstories.com/yaf_postst69804_Announcing-our-Pride-Story-Competition.aspx

If you belong to other social networks, forums, groups, sites where LGBTQ activities are discussed, or have your own blog, we'd love it if you'd (ahem!) help us promote the competition there. Please only do so if it's an appropriate place to do so.

Big thanks to Liz for putting together a banner for us.

Good luck to all those who enter!

Cheers,

Nicki x

P.S. Do you want to add a "Q" at the end of the forum title here?

I think i would be a good idea. It is another identifiable group that really is different again from the other four. LGBTQ is certainly the norm here in Canada now.
I think so. Would the Q represent queer and questioning? I’ve also seen LBGTQ+ for the others as listed in the chart I posted on the competition announcement thread. Q for sure. + under consideration?
yes to Q and yes to +

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

LGBTQQIP2SAA+

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, pansexual, two-spirit (2S), androgynous, asexual.

be perfectly fine with that, as well.

Not promising anything but I may get in on the fun with this one. I have a story floating in my head that would be perfect for this theme.

sounds like a promise to me!

I wish I could. I'm currently trying to get some Pride discussion going on my other board but I can't mention this place except obliquely. The downside of being in the closet about my erotic writing (I've mentioned being bi there but in passing and not many seemed to have picked up on it).

I am in a good place in terms of a comp entry. Just wrestling with how to end it, mostly, though depending on the ending, I may then go back to do some rewrites of earlier parts.

I'm going with this option. It's what google are using and they're sure to have done their research!
I like the + since it makes it more all-encompassing. The problem with an exhaustive alphabet soup is that you inevitably miss some smaller group (witness Katherine's comment in another thread about "Fluid" being missing). OTOH, it does kind of give prominence to the the five listed and then kind of puts the others as "and those other folks" so there's an argument for the more comprehensive versions there, too.
