Block doesn't work

I have a little problem with the block feature. I have one person on my block list because I really don't like what he usually posts. But people can change, so today I decided to unblock him, to see if his ways had improved. Sadly, they haven't, so I decided to block him again, by entering his name in the required field. That's where my little problem started.

My blocked list screen still shows the message "You have not blocked any members". Immediately beneath it the avatar and name of the member I (re)blocked. And upon returning to the forum I discovered, that I can still see the guy's posts, in spite of my block. I think there must be a glitch in the system.

Edit: Don't know if it's relevant but:
- I didn't close the screen between the unblock and block actions
- I'm using Opera 44.0 under Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 64-bit
A little kindness can be so valuable, yet costs almost nothing

In many countries being gay is a crime, and even in modern societies, politicians try to legalise discrimination. Your voice can make a difference. Have a look at All Out to find out how.

I believe some changes only take effect a) when you logoff and logon back in and/or b) after a period of time if such changes appear to have been made instantly when in fact such changes are 'batched' and processed 'later'. I suggest you give it 24 hours and see if the block has taken effect.

Please report back here smile.

I understand batched processing, but blocking always worked instantly. Unblocking did too. Yet, I'll give it 24. Thanks for the quick response.

When I went back to the blocked list just now, the blocked member was no longer there. Simply vanished from that page, which is weird. But I entered his name again in that field, again got those conflicting messages "You have successfully blocked..." followed by "You have not blocked any members", followed by the avatar and name of the blocked member. Exactly like tis morning. There is one difference though: the member is actually blocked now. So while there may still be a little glitch somewhere, my immediate problem is solved. Thanks for your time John.

Glad it's sorted out. I was going to suggest if they were an author, to go to one of their stories and block from there.
