Blocking someone ?

I would like to know what the actual results of blocking someone are.

I can read their forum posts and respond, as they can to mine. This is as planned?

I can not see their profile. Can they see mine?

Can they read and vote on my stories?

Can they can see my images the short time they are in the Gallery?

Is this site wide, or more of a Chat thing?

By blocking a user, they can't see your profile nor can they message you.

Other block settings(forums, chat and stories?) aren't available at the moment. I'm iffy w/ stories but we can test it out next time your active.

And your profile is only visible to logged in users whom you haven't blocked.

He was kind enough to block me so I can get screenshots.

I can see his profile

Media

Gallery pic(which he didn't remove by choosing option on drop bar of image through pic)

Image on media folder through profile.

Now, I've been blocked.

Image still visible on gallery after being blocked

Loading icon replaced pic info(no more info on user visible unless you click on pic)

Second pic visible on gallery

No user info on pic by hovering over right top corner icon

By clicking on pic, I get to know user who uploaded pic.

We can chat in the open through mentions(see each other and such)

Pvt chats are funny especially if you think you can go full stupid on user and they don't know lol like no mean drive-bys lol

Can vote on story

Can't comment though.

Then, I was unblocked.

Forum

Can still see user post but I can't "Like" their post.

Can quote user while being blocked too.

And then I was unblocked and was able to "Like" post.

Thank you for all that, Natalya. Very kind of you.

It does strike me as odd that a blocked person can vote on a story, but not comment. If they trash vote you, they are unlikely to comment anyway, in my experience at least. In L1, both options were withdrawn.

I don't have any issues with anyone or with any of this. I was just idly curious about how it worked now.

I'm still going to block Miss Pixel, though. She's mean.

Lush2 blocking added the additional wrinkle of throwing you out to the login page if you happen to mouse-over a blocked person's avatar.

Current blocking is actually worse than worthless. No benefits and several detriments.

I just tried that and it did log me off, which is simply rude.

There does seem little benefit to blocking someone, odious as they may be. Perhaps it is off more import to those that use the Chat rooms.

Yes, as the previous user stated, being blocked by user and clicking on their avatar does log you off site.

It's like Lush telling, "Hello, you've been blocked by user so you don't get to see them even through gallery/forum, so you've just been logged off."

I don't mind. I don't block users.

And you're welcome, kistinspencil.

Blocking features will be back, it's just taking some time.

Except I was the one that blocked them, not the other way around. Lush is really saying "you blocked someone mean and nasty, so you have to go sit in a corner. We're fine with them."

Yes but why go looking for a user you blocked?

I didn't. My cursor simply passed over his avatar going down the page -- pop goes the weasel. No delay, instant log out.

Damn, ok. Lush doesn't play around ❤

The matter of being logged off if you hover over a members mini profile photo, that you have blocked, is I believe a bug and it was reported to the development team some weeks ago. I am seeking confirmation now of that.

Edit - Its a bug. It should just not show you the basic profile details of that member. Its on the to do list to fix.
