In the area in the upper right underneath the 'post reply' and 'new topic' buttons, click 'options' and select 'Watch this topic' for any thread you'd like to follow. You'll receive notifications via email (I think) whenever there's a response.

I'll watch for that in the future... Or maybe not, on second read. Most forums I've been on have choices of subscription type in a member's "board options" (hence the thread title), & I usually choose to be instantly notified for any thread I post in. I'm not gonna do the pick-&-choose bit the way that sounds/reads to be (IMO).
