Can't comment on my own pictures

Why can't I reply to a comment on a picture I've posted or wirte a comment on a picture I've posted?

It seems an unnecessary restriction.

If you amend your Feedback options in Privacy to 'Allow everyone to add feedback to your photos/videos' you will be able to comment on your own photos and reply to other members' comments.

Is it possible for me to comment on my own story and then delete the comment if I don't like what I've written?

I used to, but it got so mean I had to block myself

Thank you John , that works even though it defeats the point of having only friends commenting on your pictures if you have to open to everyone to comment yourself. Can I friend myself?? 🤪

Also, you used to be able to put a link in the comments. I want to link my cover pics to the story. But this doesn’t seem possible any more.. or am I missing something simple? Thanks 😘

So what we need is a way to be a friend to ourselves in order to be able to comment on our own images.

A bit lumpy, but switching to "allow all", commenting, then switching back to "friends" works.

I spotted this anomaly last month and reported it so hopefully a fix is in the works. Thanks for the nudge, Susie. Someone will pass the nudge on.
