I do not receive notices when an author l am following posts a new story.

Is this a common site problem?

Regularly check your Reading Queue. Any new stories they post should go in there automatically.

Over one million views on my stories can't be wrong, so please dive in and browse my 148 stories:

* 32 Editor's Picks, 84 Recommended Reads.
* 16 competition podium places, 12 other times in the top ten.
* 23 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

Yes, that works. Though one of my own stories has found its way there. I might follow myself, so I'll know if I write any more.

Haha. Never thought of doing that.

It is possible to add your own stories to the reading queue - the floating '+' is indiscriminate - but if you find that you're following yourself (or you can do so via your profile) then I suspect that's not by design and should be raised as a ticket.

It's still so odd ... the random nature of which notifications I'll get. That kind of thing drives programmers nuts. It's nice to at least be able to check the reading queue now.

Kindness is contagious. Spread it! ❤️

Yeah, at least the reading queue is immutable and a permanent record, unlike the push/pull bell notifications that are transient and subject to either being missed or duplicated depending on what state the browser is in.

As you say, notifications are a pain to implement and a swine to debug.

Thanks, never realized it was doing this but had noticed stories in my queue that I hadn't saved there. 👌

The notifications work. However, my Reading Queue is missing stories. It's affecting at least 2 followed authors.

WannabeWordsmith and techgoddess' stories don't show including the last 5 days. Their profiles reflected that I still follow them. Deviantsusie's 5-day old story Watch Me shows as the most Recently Added. No problem with Susie's.

I refreshed the page, switched filters, switched pages, relaunched the browser, unfollowed-followed them and followed a few more of authors. I backtracked my Reading Queue. None of their unread stories is in the queue. The unread stories still has the Remove from Queue button if I open those from their profile.

No idea if anyone else has the same issue.

Happy weekend 🌻

I have referred this to the development team.

Thanks John. funlovin69 mentioned he has the same issue with EmmaMoon and Katiewriter
