Friends Activity List Issue

I'm pretty sure there is some issue with the friend activity section. I've gone into settings and changed everything to not show several times and logged out. I come back, all my friend's activities still show up on my profile which also probably means when I set my own to not show others, they can still see it. I asked a moderator about it, he walked me through the steps, I did them, they still didn't work. So, he checked his and he said his was broken as well. Anyway, I haven't heard anything about it, is there anything that can be done so I can customize my profile the way I want?
You've gone to SETTINGS> ACTIVITY FEED and

Your Activity
This allows you to filter what types of activity your friends see when you interact with the site.

And have chosen the HIDE option?

And have

Friends Activity

This allows you to filter what types of activity you see on your profile page from friends interacting with the site.

Chosen the hide option as well?

If you want to block images and vids as well you'll have to go to SETTINGS>SETTINGS AND PRIVACY and scroll down to YOUR PROFILE PAGE section and tick the Hide Blog Images

Yes, I did all of those things. The moderator was kind enough to walk me through it. However, the same thing happened, everything shows on my profile. I tried it again today, logged out, came back...same thing. The moderator did say his wasn't working as well. So, I guess tech will get around to it. But it's annoying to have all that on my profile.

Thank you very much for your reply to my thread.

I checked your profile and yes, your activity feed is hidden.
Only people on your friends list will see how you are active on the site.

I don't see how that would be an issue?

Activity feed is only hidden on your bio for users who are not on your friends list.

All I see is your bio, badges and stories section.

__

Edit: I can also see STATISTICS, FRIENDS LIST AND members you follow.

__

Edit number 2:

If your friends visit your profile, your activity feed won't be there as you've chosen to hide it.
Have one of them take a screenshot so you can see how your profile looks to friends.

But when you post on a thread, post on your blog or add a friend then it will show up on their feed on their profile.

Does that make sense?

that's not necessarily true. for instance, i recently added a friend and it doesn't show on either of our profiles because we both have that action hidden. all of the actions you've mentioned can be hidden in activity settings. now, i have noticed that there is a disconnect with hiding forum posts. it can take anywhere from twelve to twenty-four hours for that to go into effect.

also, posts won't automatically disappear from your profile. it's going to take a number of days (possibly thirty) for that to happen.

are forum postings what you're trying to hide, OP? or do you not want to see anything? as of right now the only things i can see my friends do are post stories and blogs. i haven't had any issues.

i hope your problem is solved quickly!?

ETA: having gone back and read your posts again, OP, i believe this (the italicized portion) is what has been making it appear as if there is a glitch.

Say. Her. Name.

No, because that's NOT what I'm talking about... I'm saying that I (ME, the profile owner) can STILL see all that stuff no matter what I do when I'm logged into my profile. I don't want to see it. I already know OTHERS can't see it. I checked that when I logged out and when to my page. I'm aware. The issue is that I have specifically selected for my friends activity feed to be hidden FROM ME but it's still there visible TO ME every time I go to my profile page. That's what I'm talking about.

I logged out and just went to my profile address without being logged in and saw that all that feed activity isn't there for others. The issue is it is STILL there for me when I'm logged in and view my profile.

As I said to you on Sunday (10th February) I did on that day escalate this matter to Gav. He is however extremely busy so please be patient. Thank you.

i think you've misunderstood what i was saying. yes, when you log into your profile, you will see your friend's activity. if you happen to make recent activity public (you have to do this in settings and privacy, NOT activity feed) and sign out and look at your profile - you won't see friend's activity. that is because you made your activity public. this is how your friends view your profile. are you doing this before logging out and viewing your profile? if not, you're seeing your profile the way people NOT on your friend's list see it. based on my viewing, you have this information set to private.

when did you first switch your settings to hide everything? unless you did it in early january - you're still going to see past posts made by your friends. it takes a bit of time for posts to 'age out' and drop from your profile. once that happens, your profile will be clear of your friend's activity.

Say. Her. Name.

Then you'll have to wait it out and stop messing w/ changes or it will take longer to take effect.

If after 30 days(count down starts now) you see that your friends activity continues to appear on your profile then yes, come back to this thread and post about changed taking effect or not.

SimplyJohn has already stated that Gav is very busy at the moment.

Yeah, I stopped messing with it hence why I came here and posted. I wouldn't think something would take 30 days to change. Frankly, I don't think most people would but it's fine. I just asked I'm not an expert on how the site is run.

I think it's fine to wait 30 days as users go back and forth messing w/ settings.

It's like lush puts you on time out for being a flake.

It's funny to me.

Let us know after 31 days if things have changed.

Really? Someone is a flake just because they don't want to see activity on their feed when they go to their own profile...that's absurd, to say the least. But no, I won't be saying anything about it in 31 days. In fact, I'd appreciate it if you simply didn't comment at all to me again, thanks.

Laughs out you

Going back and forth changing settings is flaking.
Damn, you took it to heart.
I said that in a laughing manner about this situation.

I will enjoy my laughter.

Thankyou.
Yay! Gav is amazing!!! He has my profile looking perfect! Problem solved. 30 days not needed. Whoo!
