It would be amazing if we could filter the gallery by username. Nothing complicated like photo content filtering, just to be able to 'pause' seeing content by various users every so often.

I will mention this to the development team. However, I suspect the response will be that if you want to view a particular members media then go to their profile page and do so there. Or, when viewing gallery items, and you want to see more of a particular members photos, simply click on their account name in the photo that loads for you to view.

I did not explain it well. The purpose would be to temporarily or permanently NOT see a user's media in the gallery.
The point would be to see LESS of the filtered user, not more.
