How come I can't Buy a gold membership for a certain person on my friends list?

Are you sure that person hasn't already got a gold membership? They might have chosen not to show their label.

If you wish to buy someone else a membership they have to be a friend here and then their name should be in the drop down list on that page when you select the buy for a friend option.

thank you. and also on her list. my name is not even shown her name is Lucky_dragonfly. i had a silver i went to buy her a gold. instead it bought me a gold instead of her.. but her name wasn't even on my list.
