What impact will this new age verification law have on LushStories? I'm not a verified member, and out of concern that I may lose access I have deleted all my content for the time being. Perhaps I'm overreacting, but just wanted some clarification and I'm sure I'm not alone...

This went into Florida law awhile ago. I can’t watch decent porn sites (I can add a screenshot of those homepages’ responses from their landing page for this state if you’d like) but I have no problem logging in here. I’ve been a mod since OG Lush but I’m not a “verified” member either, if that helps.

On my to-do list is to get a VPN to access whatever I want again, but for rn it is what it is

If they do it right, they should be able to filter based on IP to only display for people coming from constituencies that have the issues. Hopefully, services like Cloudflare will get in the age-verification act at some point (and maybe they are already) since they are already managing IP detection and filtering for a lot of sites' web application firewalls and anti-spam services.

A strange little something for Halloween.

I don't look at porn much so I don't care, for the most part, that Virginia restricts access. But I disagree with the whole concept. So many websites without age verification have content that is inappropriate for people under 18, but because it isn't a "porn site" there are no restrictions on who can view the content.

If I really cared, I'd use a VPN and avoid the issue. But porn site denial isn't enough reason to do that.
