Interactions - Friends - Comments

That is a favorite feature for me, a curated collection of delight. I choose only 'Comments' and not 'Likes & Comments', as the latter seems to never work. Perhaps it creates too much effort server-side for you.

Often, even with only 'Comments' selected, I must reload the page many times to get past the 'No Matching Interactions Found' error after about 10 seconds.
The browser error console indicates that you are returning 404 errors in that case. Is there something wrong, or are your servers just overworked?

I suspect the queries are not as optimised as they could be. When the page is first loaded after a period of inactivity it seems to take a lot of resource to make that query, and the Ajax request times out before the result is returned.

Oftentimes, as you found, after a subsequent refresh or two, some or all of the results have been temporarily cached and the load is reduced, allowing the query to complete.

I'm not sure when this will be rectified; I think it's an iterative process with each update. Some accounts are more adversely affected than others - maybe those people with many very active friends. These may have a lot of transactions to wade through to get hold of all the info that happened since last visit.

The current iteration leaves this feature nearly unusable. It just will not load after many, many tries.

If I ever get it to load a page again, I'll try culling some friends to see if that helps.

Update: Setting Content to 'Media' instead of 'All' gets rid of the 'Groups' interactions, most of which show only links.

If you click one of those group interaction links, you lose your page of friends' interactions (back to zero!), because you go to the group page (or you get logged out if you're not a group member!)
I'll try the other Content filters, too.
