In the top red bar, click you status (next to Messages icon, should say either Online or Away) to go to the Online Status settings. Change Who Can See You? to "Block All (Invisible)". There's also a signon option that lets you be Invisible on a per session basis. Yes, I stay invisible and Away pretty much all the time.
