Problems with Cover Art

Hi, I've been trying to create cover art for some upcoming chapters, and have been experiencing a lot of problems. Just yesterday I added several covers successfully. Today, I can't make anything work. I go through the process, and it says my cover is being generated, but it never appears. The system doesn't provide any sort of error, but it just doesn't work. Can anyone provide a little guidance here?

Just FYI, I've used Chat GPT to create the images, and specified a 9:14 aspect ratio. I've tried uploading in PNG and JPG formats, but neither works.

Hmmm, I successfully added one. I don’t get a cover generated message. I just tap on cover box, select upload from photos, get spinny ball and it’s there. How are you trying to add your cover?

I'm having this issue as well, and another member has reached out to let me know the same. Admins are making technical support aware of it, and hopefully the problem will be resolved soon.

Latest update from my end. It looks like the pictures are being uploaded, but end up in my 'misc' folder. I don't know if there's any way to convert them into something useful

Possible Workaround: 😜. After extensive experimentation, I believe the issue lies in the scaling algorithm. I used an external image editor to rescale my pictures to exactly 900 Wide by 1400 tall, and that seems like it works.

I aim for 64% because that matches the recommended 768:1200 dimensions. Your ratio is more like 64.3% (I just teased out 9 ÷ 14 in my head, honest) and you could do 896:1400 if you want a perfect match. 🤓

Ah - Thanks, Chet! I've been looking for the recommended number but didn't see it anywhere. Darling Kimmi told me 9x14, so I went with that. Thanks for the clarification.

As Chet says, if you scale your image down to the recommended 768x1200 prior to upload, there's fewer bytes to wrangle. If you had a huge image, you may have been hitting the script timeout before the image fully uploaded and was processed.
