Does anyone know why when someone authors 100 stories, they get a gold dot badge then when they achieve the next two levels, 250 and 500 stories, the badges revert to white dot badges (which is the dot color of most badges)?
Just curious, because I did a little math ---
Out of 468,710 members, only 9,426 have authored a story or 20.11% The dot on this badge is white.
Out of those 9,426 authors, 117 or 0.012% have authored 50 stories. The dot on this badge is white.
Out of those 117 authors, 54 or 46.15% have authored 100 stories. The dot on this badge is gold. A gold dot badge seems to denote rare, uncommon or otherwise special badge. (These also include Famous Story, Legendary Story, Famous Vocalist, Millionaire's Club, Editor's Pick and Omnium badges for writers as well as badges for moderators, moderator of the month, etc.)
Out of those 54 authors, 6 or 11.11% have authored 250 stories. The dot on this badge reverts to white.
Out of those 6 authors, 4 or 66.66% have authored 500 or more stories. The dot on this badge is white as well.
It seems to me, that once you reach the 100 story plateau and receive a gold dot badge, the author 250 and author 500 badges should also have a gold dot, especially since on 0.006% of the authors have an author 100 badge, only 0.0006% have an author 250 badge, and only 0.0004% have an author 500 badge. It seems odd that once you reach that gold status for writing 100 stories, you loose it when you earn your 250 and 500 story badges (which replace each other - i.e., Author 50 badge is replaced by Author 100 badge, Author 100 badge by author 250 badge and Author 250 badge by the Author 500 badge).
