Story edit / approval

I submitted a story shortly after the new site went active, Sept 8th.  It is still waiting review.  This seems long for a Gold member.  Is there a backlog, or did my story get stuck because of the transition?

We have two from you in the queue. Big backlog I'm afraid. We weren't able to process stories for a while and we're still getting used to the new system.

I edited an old story to remove the authors note and submitted it without an explanation to the story mod. No idea it would have to be verified. On the old site, when I’d do this, the story would automatically reappear as published.
