Story images display

Is there a reason an image added to a story is so strongly compressed? The picture on my latest submission was 512 x 800 as suggested and a mighty 154k in size. Rendered on the page it is now 13k and practically unreadable.

An image is strongly recommended for a Micro. We already have the burden of the ridiculous format ratio and orientation to bear. Why force us to live with this, too? Images are regularly posted to the Gallery snake pit far larger in size and with indiscriminate orientation/format, but that's for the Fuck Me Tonight crowd so it's okay, right?

This, together with all the promises, promises, promises unfulfilled on the writer's side, make it very, very hard to bother submitting anymore. From what I have seen that has posted lately, I'm not alone among the more seasoned authors here. It is intensely frustrating.

It seems this is of no concern to anyone, but me. Such is the Lush Life. On the plus side, I won't have to spend time finding an image anymore. Better blank than rank.

Babygirl, you of all writers don't need pic to help out paint a picture. Your words do all of that for us.

Be happy you don't need a pic like others do.

Sorry I've just seen this.

Are you saying that the image doesn't appear properly when loaded here? I've checked your micro and it's perfect on my phone, I've not checked the desktop yet.

Looks fine to me on both PC and Galaxy S20. Great story, too.

I didn't zoom in on either option either.

Image will look different on users end depending how they've set up screen options.
