I submitted a story for the competition that was approved and appeared on the front page earlier today, "The Dreamer."
For whatever reason, it did not appear as a competition entry. My "click" on that box when I submitted it did not register, and so the moderator, Jwren, naturally put it into the general population, even giving it a recommended read.
After some back and forth, he generously agreed to remove it and allow me to resubmit it, so that it could go into the competition. It was on the front page for maybe an hour. I reposted it, he reapproved it, and the story is back on the site.
However, the story is not on the front page. I don't know if that's because competition entries perhaps don't appear on the front page, or because I filled my quota of "one story per 24 hours" on the front page.
If it's the latter, I wonder if it would be possible to allow my story to get its little run of attention on the front page, because I'm not "double dipping" in any way. It's the same story.

The front page shows about 20-30 stories. Not sure exactly how many, in that ball park. If the mods process that many stories in say 3 hours, it's not going to stay on the home page for any longer than that . Your time in the sun on the home page is pretty much governed by how quickly stories are verified.

Since the last approved story (now pulled per your request due to the error in competition entry) was on the front page today, the standard one per day thing still applies. It'll be on the front page tomorrow, no worries.
