Q: Is there a conflict with pasting from a program like Word 2010 to submit a story?

On the story submission form, there's a button to "Clean Word Format", which should solve any issues you have.
Better is to use a flat file format, so no gunk code gets pasted into the box.
Try it and see how you go. Most people who submit here, use Word, and don't have many problems.
