Video upload speed ?

Curious why sometimes my videos upload to a folder fairly quickly and other times several hours, even up to a day ? Anyone know why it varies ? I've tried different times of the day even, without noticable change I think .🤔Thanks

It's down to volumes and system load. All uploads go to queues for processing and there are 2 queues. One for static files and the other for gifs and videos. Generally the former queue is processed quickly but the gif/video queue takes rather longer because gifs are typically converted to videos and the significant popularity of those media types. Obviously all affected by other system activity and prioritisation.

Lately the upload speed for videos, has been the slowest I have ever known on the site. Literally it takes overnight even for a video a few mins. long to upload.

That's good to know. I uploaded three videos fairly quickly Friday night, but the three from yesterday and one today have yet to show up.

Ive been waiting over 24 hours for a 53 second video to load! No one can convince me that this is normal on here! The video servers have a problem ...100%

I have asked the development team to check that all is well and will advise again in due course.

Thank you John, things did improve on Saturday, and videos were loading fast. Then it all slowed right down again, almost to a stop.

I have received feedback and it is very much along the lines as I say in my post above of 10th October. However, accepted that the relevant processes could do with some optimisation which is on the 'to do list'. The volumes of media uploads on the site are incredibly high and the processing queues are rarely, if ever, empty.
