What do you have to do to get on the 'Featured Members' bar on the Homepage?

I typed lush into my browser and today I am smack bang in the middle of it for the first time. No idea what I done to get on there so if anyone could enlighten me I would greatly appreciate it. I have been on lush for years now and this is the first time i have ever been on there ha!

I remember right it's profile views. I asked the same thing when I saw myself up there for the first time. That ass doesn't hurt your profile views ;)

I do believe it is completely random, all female members and a token guy...

I just looked and I'm there right now!! Lol

If you do not want to be a featured member, you can disable it in your profile settings...

It's not the number of views that counts, but the frequency of those views in a certain time frame.

The featured members list is a snapshot of members who currently have the most profile views within a given time frame. I'm not sure what the time frame is. But it can't be more than a couple of hours or so, because the list is updated several times throughout the day.

This won't guarantee that you'll be a featured member, but here are ways to generate traffic to your profile and increase your chances:

1. Post great stories. If people like what they read, they'll go to your profile to see if there's more.

2. Post frequently in the forum. People will get curious about the person behind the opinions and check out your profile.

3. Visit the chat rooms. People in chat rooms always check out people's profiles (even if they don't necessarily read them thoroughly), mostly for conversational cues.

I'm sure you've been there more often than you realize. I've been told my avatar has been there multiple times but I myself have only seen it there once. I'm more interested in making the monthly lists which a few of my pieces have.

IF all of the above were true, there would be a series of only 16 or so people rotating constantly on the Featured Members Board, as they inundate the forum threads, the chatrooms and constantly submit works (with, indeed, that one random member included).

I'd say it's more like ... some obscure algorithm that our illustrious Gav has conjured up ... sort of like magic!

The list is comprised of members with the highest views since it was last run and,

- The member has not changed their settings to exclude themselves from the featured members list
- They do not have the default avatar
- They have visited the site within the last 3 months

4 men and 4 women are chosen from these.

The list is rebuilt every 4 hours.

Thanks. I was wondering how this worked, since a friend of mine was recently featured. I wonder how hard it would be, logistically, to send people a notification when they're showing on the "featured" board, especially since it changes every four hours. Some of us can't log into Lush every four hours (we have to work and sleep; can't be perving full-time, y'know!), and I'm sure it would be an ego-boo for a lot of people.
