Yay for progress smile

It's great to see specific word counts again (now to patiently await the same to be done for story views and for the word counts to show on the story's page lol).
It's also great that it's way less of a hot mess than it was a week or two ago where it wanted to count all sorts of things as a word.

However, there's still a few symbols that I suspect are being counted that weren't counted before.

One micro of mine, The Egoist (https://www.lushstories.com/stories/microfiction/the-egoist), was exactly 100 words before the move. Now it's 102 words. When I checked for symbols, the only ones were '""', '...' and '-' (regular dash, not an em-dash). '-' was used to connect compound words as a hyphen. 'vote-box' and 'inner-critic' in this case.

Same thing in 100 Wet and Messy Words: Natto (https://www.lushstories.com/stories/microfiction/100-wet-and-messy-words-natto) 'finger-flick' is now counted as two words.

Is the consensus that words like the above are two words now, or will things be amended to make them count as a single word again? There's a lot of fuck-word compounds that would have to be forgone in word-constrained categories and comps if hyphenated words are deemed as two separate words. ;)

My story Filth-Kitten was right at the max word count for its respective competition, and it has 27 words with '-' and is now 24 words over the 2500 word limit. That story also used '~' to break up scenes as well as bold text which were counted before in the word count, but it's possible that they don't influence that now.
