Why?

Because she loves neo-harlequin porn that appeals to people that love twilight and have yet to actually experience good sex.

It's a billion dollar movie francise now.. Terrible. I tried to read the books , but I couldn't. The movies are terrible. The acting is terrible.

So awful..

If you want to look at a well made film that presents BDSM, take a look at Secretary by Maggie Gylenhal and James Spader.

at least Twilight was fun to watch in parts... lol - i own Secretary, btw. one of my favorite movies. smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Cloud Atlas
saw black panther last night and am ABSOLUTELY enamoured! admittedly i am VERY biased, but this movie surpassed my expectations. not only was it action packed and visually stunning - it had a solid story. i often find myself intrigued by the villain and have added killmonger to my list of favs. i'd definitely recommend seeing it????

Probably going to see Black Panther later this week. Oh! And the theatrical rerelease of The Dark Crystal.

I love Dark Crystal. Creepiest puppet movie ever!

Interesting. I can sort of get that...

Also, the Gelflings in that movie are played by muppets, and not by puppets. biggrin

Oo, I had not heard about that. A lead-in to help promote the upcoming TV series (on Netflix, IIRC)? Loved that movie back in the day.
Red Sparrow looks interesting

Not a great movie, but a very good musical.

The songs are some of the best I've ever heard. The same pair that made these songs are the ones that did La La land... I didn't like La La Land but these are great. I don't feel like this movie works as a movie, but it would work very well as a Broadway play.

The first two songs are awesome, and the song with Hugh Jackman and Zach Efron are top notch. The song that was nominated for the Oscars was probably the 4th best song on the soundtrack (although I think that it should have still won over all the boring ass songs that were nominated this year).

Check out "A Million Dreams". Or "The Greatest Show".

Although, I don't usually like musicals as movies. (I thought that Chicago and La La Land were among the most undeserving best picture nominees)

I also really don't think one works as a movie.... but it should be a Broadway production. The music with the choreography would play very well on stage.

This one is good too.

Not a complete movie by any standards, but a really good musical with very well written songs.

I'll post this one as well... but it really doesn't do it justice. You have to see Jackman and Efron do it with the choreography.

I ignore the fact that PT Barnum was actually a horrible person.... but the Academy did not...

I separated the historical inaccuracies from the entertainment aspects. It's funny how the same wasn't done for "I, Tonya."
The Shape of Water, and I didn't like it. I was hoping it wouldn't get the Oscar, but I knew it would. I haven't seen most of the nominated, but I liked "The Darkest Hour" and thought Gary Oldman was terrific.
Saw a few, only Maze Runner: The death cure and Only The Brave stands out...

Can't wait for -- Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald -- Don't like Harry Potter movies but these movies I like a lot...November is still far...
Three Billboards... really good movie. So glad to see the two lead characters get their Oscars.

Just suffered through Ferdinand with the kids.

I don't want to see that fish fucking movie, The Shape of Water. But I'm being drawn in to see what
all the fuss is about. IDK. I think we have better creature sex stuff here AKA Verbal's last comp win.

I think I'll watch Lady Bird next. I hope it's not an avian fucking flick. The fishy love story can wait...

Thanks Ping! Though weirdly the movie I most want to see is The Shape of Water. I frikkin LOVE del Toro, even his bad movies. I never get to see movies made for grown-ups until like 3 years later, on TV.

I also really wanna see mother! even though everybody in the entire world hated it. I am trying very hard not to read spoilers of either movie.
I saw The Death of Stalin this weekend past. Great film. If you enjoy satires and dry, witty humour, then I recommend the film. Period costumes were great, especially for the ladies. I also enjoyed the musical score and the acting. Jeffrey Tambor and Steve Buschemi were stand-outs. As was Michael Palin.

Managed to see the Greatest Showman - Hugh Jackman and Zac Effros were amazing not to mention the story line. It was fascinating seeing how P.T. Barnum rose to fame and created the "modern day" circus.

A must see!

Oo, this one got on to my "to see" list last week when I heard the full soundtrack for the first time. I love musicals and there aren't many original (ie. not adapted from a stage show) movie musicals anymore save for some of Disney's animated films.
Kate & leopold because i haven't seen it yet.

Ah Man... I really didn't want to see this one, but you and every other person I've read or talked to liked or loved it.

Drats.

Finally watched Lady Bird. Interesting. No discussion of President Johnson or the White House or nothin'.

I did enjoy the movie, but enjoyed the actress playing the lead more. She was fun to watch. Held her own with everyone
she shared the screen with. Well deserved Oscar for her.

Next up: Not that fish fucking movie. I just can't. Sorry Verbs. It's gunna have to be Pacific Rim (again) but this time with my
son, so we can see PR2 in the theatre. Love them big machines and bad ass alien monster creatures.

NOTE: This is Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim 2, NOT Pacific Rim Job Too. Sorry for any confusion...

PT Barnum was actually a pretty bad dude. The Greatest Showman had some great songs, but please don't think that it was historically accurate in any way. The movie made it seem like he was helping all these "freaks" but in reality he just exploited everyone.

I've watched the movie 4 times. Very entertaining. I hope someone makes a realistic version.

Which one? The Corman original or the Frank Oz version of the musical? Though you can't go wrong either way. Both fun movies.

The Shape of Water.

I really liked this one. The music alone made this movie. I feel the same way about Guillermo del Toro then add Octavia Spencer and Micheal Shannon (love him) and how could you go wrong?

I want to see, A Quiet Place, Suburbicon, Wonder Wheel, and about five other ones.

I have a new story out! Wish You Were Here A teasing sub may I have pushed too far, but the punishment is oh so sweet.
