what tips do you have for me. On the inside of the boots near the zip the leather scratches my skin grrrrrrrrrr. Like i said only if I have worn short socks.

Agreed. Long distance is VERY hard. I spent 15 months stationed on another continent. No leave to go home. It was a HUGE strain. Hard on all parties involved. Coming back home is like learning how to live together all over again. People have their own routines, are used to managing certain things, not just ready to hand over the reigns all at once.
It's tough, but it can be done. If it's hard (it often is), then there are resources available for recconecting families. In my situation, the Army has literature on coming home after a long deployment, coming home checklists, etc. as well as Family Readiness groups. For non-military families, there are resources out there as well.

When my partner in crime was in the Marines, it was a time of conflict and he was deployed for a very long time. With no phone calls and e-mails like there are now. It made it extra hard not knowing if he was safe or had been shot. But the times before and after were great. We got to meet up all over the world when he got LOAs. I flew 18 hours one tme just to be with him for 10. It was worth it. LOL

Something that really is gets me mad thinking about is the fact that the economy is in the toliet and Johnny Depp is asking for 35million to make another crappy sequel of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
