Thanks for everything you have given us. Born 1453 years ago and still going strong!

Um, I think you've aged him 1000 years. He's only a youthful 453 years old (born in 1564). And the 23rd of April is actually the anniversary of his death. He was born on April 26 (And no, his last words were not, "Damn! Almost made it to another birthday.").

Nonetheless, I never miss a chance to celebrate one of my favorite poets and playwrights.

A toast to the man gave us so much brilliant writing to enjoy!

So, what's your favorite play? For me, it's Macbeth for the tragedies and Much Ado About Nothing for the comedies (it's fluff, but fun, enjoyable fluff). Don't really have a favorite history because I've seen fewer of them, though I do love Henry V.

Lear, for tragedies, Midsummer night dream for comedies. i don't really know the histories that well, cept for Antony and Cleopatra.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Much Ado About Nothing is a favorite. And I love how this movie brought it to life. The banter, the sarcasm, it is all just as fresh now as I'm sure it was 453 years ago.

I had seen the play done on stage once before I saw Branagh's movie but, wow, did he breath life into Shakespeare's words with this one. His Henry V is great, too, but he and Emma hit it out of the park with their Benedick and Beatrice.
