"Continue reading" and "Read again" [RESOLVED]

There's an odd little glitch that I've noticed in stories that are in several parts.

When you post a new chapter, you can link it to the previous chapter, and when it goes online the program includes this link with the words "Continue reading".

Then, when you print the next chapter, the program cleverly includes a new link saying "Read again", so if you're reading Chapter 7, you have two links, back to Chapter 6 and forward to Chapter 8.

Which is great. But here's the glitch. The links and text are the wrong way round. The "Read again" link takes you to the next chapter, while the "Continue reading" takes you to the previous one.

You can see it on this screenshot from my own current series.

It's a little thing. But wouldn't it be better the other way round, so "Read again" pointed chronologically backwards, and "Continue reading" went forwards?

I think the idea is to go back to the previous story and update it with the link to the next chapter once it's been posted.

Yes, I think that's the idea, and it's neat. It's just got the text the wrong way round.

Update: I think when you submit the new chapter you've been linking the last one as the next one isn't up yet. Let me check.

EDIT: yes, so when you post say chapter three, you've been linking to chapter two as chapter four obviously isn't up yet. This is fine but when chapter four IS published, you go back to chapter three and change the link so it directs to four. If this is the only thing you edit, the story will not require reverification. I fixed the series you screenshotted (to date).

Ah, thank you, that makes sense. As long as I know it's just something that I need to do each time - I.e. remember to go to the previous story and change the link - then I can do that easily enough.

I've always been reluctant to do this sort of thing in case the mods get grumpy at the extra work for a minor change, but I won't feel bad about it now. ?
