I've been attempting to add a background to my profile (for about a week now when I'm on). I've tried customizing through the dropdown box from account settings and also going to settings/privacy and clicking the underlined link there in the choices at the top.
I'm sure it's something to do with my own pc or browser or something?? As I've noticed other people have changed or added to theirs here and there.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue of the page not responding or freezing up once you click customize?? Any help would be appreciated as I wanna add some 'flair' lol.

I had the same issue. I changed my internet browser to Firefox and it worked fine.
What browser are you using? might need to get an update for it as Lois said I am using FireFox and for the most part I have no issues with it myself. Also what is the file extension for the picture you are trying to upload? Is it a Jpeg or a Gif?
I updated mine in IE8 the other day, no problems.
I mostly use firefox too though on my home laptop.

My browser is Firefox and I have no problems and change my background almost every other day!

You should be able to change the background on IE as well...I know there was an issue when the background thingy was first started, you would get an error message in IE, but Gav fixed that a while ago...
Yeah Exacta, I don't know what it is with IE...but it just may be that I need to update it (being a procrastinator about that lol). I'm liking Firefox pretty well though...actually had not used it in a long time.
. Logged in to check here, found your replies (thanks again), logged out, d/l'ed Firefox, logged back in and went to my profile..clicked on the customize link and no freezing up at all, yay!
