Ok I figured out the badges thing...so far I am just an author but that will change soon enough!
Now what about the Forum Rankings? I am now an "Advanced Wordsmith" so where do I see those rankings? I am curious since I see a lot of different ranks out there!
Those rankings come from how many times you post in the forums.

You also get a badge for that. Here's the listings for them, which you can find if you click on the "All Badges" link on your profile where your author badge is.

Is there a page that I could go to to see how many posts = what rank?

You will get the Forum Guru ranking when you have submitted 500 posts to the forums.

If you totally nom on gingerbread all day, you get a Gingerbread Lover ranking. If you are a mental viking, you get a Brawling Beserker ranking. If you are a cum enthusiast, you get a Cum Enthusiast ranking. If you are the site owner or tech god, you get a Matriach or Code Monkey ranking. Etc...

Hope that helps?

There appears to be a difference between the badge and what the forum software is telling me.

Computer says no.

I think there is a problem with the counting system in the computer. I am now shown as a forum guru when I post, but I haven't reached 500 posts, and the badge doesn't appear on my profile page. Perhaps it is an honorary title here in the Forum.
Oh, sorry just saw Nicola's post above. Never mind.

i never asked... not that i'm complaining (is proud of her title!) smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I'm not too far up the ranks.

I don't think the number of posts factors in. I have less than 4,000 posts...which is no where near 10,500.

I think it has more to do with how active you are on the site as a whole...and how much time Nicola has on her hands to change your ranking to a custom one once she's asked to do so.
