Hmm. But if we define ourselves as "talented male authors" we risk coming across as egotistical, arrogant asses, whom nobody could blame you for not wanting to befriend. On the other hand, unless someone else, someone you know and have come to trust tells you of men that they consider to be talented male authors, you wouldn't be in a position to meet any.
