Forever Love

Her auburn hair glows in the light
Green eyes sparkle oh so bright,
Her smile washes over me.
I long to kiss her and to hold
Her body close, Am I too bold?
One heart, two souls entwined
Hands held softly hers in mine.
This is right don't you see.
She leans to me a whisper there
I smell the flowers in her hair.
We walk together on the beach
We touch and hold then we reach
Looking out at the sea.
Twenty-two years have passed so fast
I look back at the past.
Would I trade at all, you are curious
Not on your life I am serious.
Our life together is as 'we'.
Look to the sky late at night
Our love is there in the light.
Binary stars two in one a natural thing
So we stand and the love we bring
It is as if we were meant to be.
Apart we suffer, hearts rapidly beating
Waiting for the return for the greeting.
I love my wife and she loves me
As one we face eternity
We've raised the children three.
Our life tomorrow yet to be
Two hearts as one, don't you see..

My knight, his armor shining
Lance readied
Steadied for the blow
Mounted on his steed
He rides her onward

The joust is on

She takes me far and long
The length of the field I ride

She holds my head

The knight has won his lady

the first taste of your kiss
when our lips meet

long dark road
streches for miles
ahead into the
night so dark
the glow of the
one headlight
cuts the dark
like a knife
two souls share
the ride keeping
warm through
the night
hold me close
my dear i will keep

it will guide us
through the long

I wrote this several years ago. It's a bit abrupt, in it's cadence, but here it is:
It Rained
Heated tears
Hold the anguish of my heart
Displayed by the rush
A saline release
My heart is showing its ache
By nature’s way
It rained
The coursing flow
The gush of my heart
Hopes, dreams
Unbidden by my life’s journey
Stay inside
The only sign of their prison
It rained
My vision
Like a windshield
Without the wipers
Stays blurred
I’m held within
Delayed, confined
It rained
The scent
Of a world bathed
Forlorn, yet clean
My heart has stopped
It’s beat tempered
By emotions unleashed
It rained
The sun awakens
Shining through the clouds
The water dispelled
The earth, my mind
Is purged for a time
My hopes lie herein
It rained

My sons are always quoting it.
