I take it from your description his interest is more his own thinking rather than a religious practice known for multiple wives (Mormon, Muslim). And it doesn't at all sound it's driven from a love or sex standpoint as in polymory relationships. His economic rationale for multiple wives doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Nutbag
