Begging for Views....LOL

Hi...

I have only posted 6 stories so far, including one for the present competition. That said, the first story I posted, is also my best story I think. Because I was a rookie story writer here, the story did not get much readership. As I continue to post, people are reading my current and most recent stories and are ignoring the "diamond in the rough". It's a sad, but romantic tale that has gotten great reviews by those that read it. I have had many people write me and tell me it was one of the most emotional stories they have ever read.

Check it out, I think you will like it

Hello Reese:
I hope this finds you well and safe. I find myself in the same spot as you. I have one story with 6000 vies and not one comment or score. I'm wondering if people are actually reading it, or a "vie" is given if they just look at the list?

How are you able to list your stories in your signature line? I look forward to your reply.
DJ
I hope you will visit one of my stories like A Wedding Slow Dance, Take Me, Take Me NOW! or my most recent series Finding Lynn Finding Lynn.

This is how I do it. I often also add some formatting (make the text larger and that sort of thing) but that's optional. You can see my current sig below:

Go to the story you want to use, highlight the address in the address bar in your web browser, right click, Copy

Edit your signature (Click avatar in header - Settings - More Options - Edit Forum signature)

Add any text to introduce the story, esp. noting special bits like if it is a comp entry, if it has won awards, that sort of thing

Add the title (I prefer this to the raw addresses)

Highlight the title

Click the link button in the editor

Paste the address in the box

Click OK

Repeat for any other stories you want to list (I tend to keep it to maybe 3 at most, only one if I'm promoting a comp entry or something)

Save the signature

Go to one of your posts to see it
Seeker, I appreciate your help. I highlighted the name of the story and click the link button but it just inserted the link, it did not create a hyper link.

See my email. Basically, you have to copy the web address of the story, then paste it into that Create Link box. So you should end up with something like this:

Then you can just click OK.
These things are frustrating Diamondjim. The way I do it is using what is called bbcode.

[url= then the link, then a ], then the text you want, then type [ / url ] to close the tag.

Except without the spaces. I can't write it actually the right way, or the forum software will try to format it as a link! If what I've written doesn't make sense, just google bbcode links. Anyway I can see you've got it working now!

Yeah, the button just automates the BBCode. I could hand code it myself (I still do the odd bit of HTML coding) but I'm lazy.

I do wish they could get this board to the state most modern boards are in where it just recognizes a link and automatically codes it appropriately for you.
I will read your stories, have you read any of mine ?
