Thanks for this. I appreciate it.
Librarian ape approves. Now when do we start classifying them using the Dewey Decimal System?

The Dewey what now?

It was bugging me for a while.

Now it's easier to find works from the same author, or even a particular title you're interested in.

If we can help people find your eBooks in an easier way, all the better.

Librarian joke. It's the numeric system used to classify books for libraries, at least on this side of the pond (mostly for non-fiction though I've heard of some that insist on trying to apply it to fiction, too). So, for instance, sex manuals are in 613.96.
Unencumbered by any real knowledge, last time I checked, the Dewey system was being surplanted by the Library of Congress cataloging protocol...at least in the US of A. But I bow to Seeker or anyone else who actually knows what they're talking about.

BTW, many thanks to Gav and company. With luck, this will boost usage.

LC is used in academic libraries but most smaller public libraries still use Dewey. LC is too detailed for a small collection.
Many thanks, Scott. I feel well and truly elucidated. ;)

BTW, I checked out the re-organized E-Book section yesterday and while pleased with the changes, was also disappointed.

I had gotten it in my mind that the break down would be by categories. Instead, they appear to be only by first letter. If I'm right (doubtful, but you never know) this will only help those looking for a specific title. For the list to become an effective marketing/selling tool for authors, it probably needs to be organized by category type (First Time, Group Sex, etc.) and, if possible, contain a brief annotation.

My quibbles aside, the new re-organization is much better than the 'one big list, format it replaced, imo.

That's where Dewey comes in. Sex with bartenders would be under 641.874.
