The Leather Clowns

i've always wanted to write a gay male story, but never really been able to. we were watching the NYE celebration on tv. the new york one with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper. Last 10 minutes these two guys came on and played John Lennon's Imagine. They were both dressed all in leather. My wife laughed, said they looked a little like clowns. yeah, Leather clowns, i thought. And just like that, i had my title.

I played with it over the next few days in my head. I always do that with stories. I write them in my head, file away a few lines, sort of tease them out and then, when i'm ready, i write.

this one was easy. i sat down and started writing, one take, start to finish maybe 30 minutes. i rarely write that fast, but as i said, it was already there, really. afterwards... i liked how it came out. i like the feeling it conveyed. the longing to be loved, to be told you're beautiful, no matter who you are. i'm proud of this one, so please, give it a read and please please please, let me know what you think. that's more important to me than a number.

You have a right to feel proud, Sprite. It's a marvelous story. Not anything one would expect from Sprite. But still, her own wizardry with the language shines through. Frankly, the story conveys a whole alternate world that exists only in Sprite's own mind. If it continues it would have to be something special to keep the world alive.

Terrific story about a terrific story. I wish I had stories like this about my stories but my life is boring. My wife probably wouldn't even think of something like that.
