Until you read my comp entry, "Letting Loose". The last line of the story came about spontaneously, but immediately put me in mind of this Canadian rock classic. Here BTO founding members Randy Bachman and Fred Turner put the song through its paces at a show in 2010. Picture it playing under the end credits of the movie.
(And I had hoped to find a female cover, but such a thing does not seem to exist. There are songs by women with the same title, but none are covers of this song.)
