I have a dark question... for Noir comp.
Can one of my characters get a small body part cut off by another character if I don't go into any details? Just describe a scream, then the after effect? Or is that too gory? It's kinda important to describe my character in full.

I am so not trashing my idea to write about a heroin addict who murders and consequently has a viking funeral … unless of course it would rate more highly than a fairy story with an interesting name.

Well, assuming I can beat this kernel of an idea into shape and still keep it sexy. I've written maybe 4K and it's going okay so far. Just gotta not trip myself up with too much plot.
