It's odd our program doesn't tally with itself!

I would expect that ckeditor - the freely available script employed in the edit box - uses some system to count words in real time during the editing phase. But once posted and our Lush gavorithm takes over to display the word count on the home page / in the story, that determines the count slightly differently. A hyphen here, a double-quote or other punctuation mark there could make all the difference.

Doubt there's much can be done about it, short of porting the ckeditor algorithm from Javascript to whatever runs the Lush back-end (ASP I assume). Lot of work for minimal gain.

Over one million views on my stories can't be wrong, so please dive in and browse my 148 stories:

* 32 Editor's Picks, 84 Recommended Reads.
* 16 competition podium places, 12 other times in the top ten.
* 23 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

Ape like. * sips banana daiquiri *
Just at 5,610 for my entry. I am hoping the story telling makes up for a thousand or so fewer words. I just love these contests. It seems it is the fastest way for a writer to get onto the top authors' list for a short, thrilliing, while.

I'll have an ouzo since my story is set in Greece. Or, perhaps, a tsipouro?

Cheers to all.

Retsina for the win.

That'll do, absolutely, my friend. Cheers.
Winners will be announced a little later than expected I'm afraid, on the 16th.

Apologies to those who are sitting on the edge of their seats in anticipation!

I knew you'd find some way to delay it until I'm away on vacation. Now you'll have to wait almost two weeks for my acceptance speech.
