Sizzling Summer Sex Competition

With Summer having officially started (in the Northern Hemisphere), we want to turn up the heat with our latest story competition.

Competition Theme

Stories should be centred around typical Summer themes.

Plots are likely to include (but not restricted to) things like holidays, getting oiled up and spending some "quality" time at the beach, swimming, surfing, spending time outdoors with picnics / bbq's, pool / jacuzzi / bikini parties, midnight skinny dipping, cocktail fueled swinging sessions after a raucous garden party etc..

Our judges are looking for sizzling stories involving hot sex!

Stories should be kept to 7,500 words or under. Flash Fiction stories are fine, but unless they are incredibly well done, are unlikely to be able to compete with longer pieces!

1st Prize: $150
2nd Prize: $100
3rd Prize: $50

Agreed - this should be fun! I think the theme will set a tone for the competition while leaving the field of topics wide open. I bet we'll get some delightfully varied stories with this one.

Couldn't keep any of my "Masked" ideas under the word limit LOL At least one of them will probably see the light of day eventually. It's just on the back burner for now.

Already have my idea for this one, and it feels like a <7500 word story in my head. Owls, a freshly-graduated, newly employed raptor researcher, a big breasted MILF who has a penchant for nighttime summer skinny dipping...

And steamy outdoor sex with young researchers.

First draft done, clocking in at 7413 words. So, I have at least a little leeway for tweaks and the difference between Wordperfect's word count and Lush's.

I'll let it sit for a couple of days, and then get down to editing.

I'm at the same stage. Maybe we'll submit at the same time. Or maybe I'll go back to mine, read it over, throw my hands in the air and go "what the fuck was I thinking".

Testing The Waters.
Unfortunately, the last day of my vacation is upon me. The way my work hours were the last three weeks or so, I doubt I'll actually get down to serious editing before next weekend. I might have time to run it through text-to-speech once before then, but that's about it. Only one step of the process. Plenty of time before the close of submissions, so no real stress to do it when I'm tired during the week.

I could be surprised by things having calmed down, but I doubt it. Probably won't chill out until after Labor Day in any significant way.

Meanwhile, on to the next story in my quest toward "Prolific Writer" and eventually "Omnium". "Fill 'Er Up" filled Occupations. "Hooters" will fill "Outdoor" ( both of which I actually could have filled with existing stories ) The next will take care of Femdom. Teen is next. Then Bisexual.

Other ideas will probably insert themselves in there in the meantime, but that's the badge quest path, as I see it so far, with existing, more or less complete story ideas.

Lush's wordcount baffles me. I was a few words under by my local count. When I pasted it, I was several words over. Bit the bullet, removed a couple of lines I hated to lose, and got it down to a few words under. Then, when it posts, it's showing as one word over.

Exactly the same happened to me, almost to the letter. The algorithm used to determine the word count in the Editor is slightly different to the one used when Published. Luckily only one word over doesn't matter.

Slightly more annoying in the Flash category as that has a hard limit... but you only get to know you've exceeded it when you hit Publish, not Preview!

Got mine up on the weekend, no word count issues. But mine was well under anyhow at 6300 and change.

It's been posted somewhere before (who knows where!), but due to the differences between our software and MS Word / Pages / other online word counter tools, we allow a dozen or so words over.

It's odd our program doesn't tally with itself! I wonder if it's using 2 different versions of the same software? I'll ask Gav to take a look. He's the only one who really knows how it's programmed.
