I suppose it is the nature of competition, but for every one who is pleased there must be two or three who are disappointed. I read some fantastic stories and envied some of the creativity. Thank you to whoever did the judging – it must be hard.

Aw, thanks. I should add that my ambitions when entering the competition were: to have some fun, see if I could improve a bit as a writer, and see if I could get some feedback from some of the awesome writers around here. Mission accomplished!

I am actually shocked to see my name in among this group of amazingly talented writers. I am grateful for everyone who read my story and had nice things to say about it.
There were some fantastic stories with such different takes on the theme. I have to agree that Puddleduck's was the one to beat. It was a lot of fun to see what everyone came up with.

too for suggesting my character should be a cocktail umbrellas salesperson. It started as a bit of a joke to me but then I became obsessed with trying to work in my cocktail umbrella collection into the story in a natural way.Congratulations to Puddleduck, WannabeWordsmith and Littleduchess and everyone who placed and entered. It ended up being a lot of fun for me and hopefully helped me grow as a writer.

Wow. I'm in awe. I've read many of the comp stories and can't believe I placed at all, let alone 3rd. There were soooo many talented and creative pieces. What an incredible community of artists and personalities and I'm so lucky that I am getting introduced to more every day.
I totally agree that Puddleduck was the clear winner to me. I loved her piece so much...a true master class in erotica. And I would name all the others I loved but really I'd just be reciting everyone else named here and a couple more.
