It's just confusing as fuck-all trying to tell when something was posted, vs. whatever time it happens to be here. Is there any way to change it so I see times in USA Eastern Time?
Please?
Pretty Please?
I got no sugar, but I CAN put a cherry on top...
Can't be. PST is three hours behind me, and there are posts that have been made where the time shows up a few hours BEFORE me. It doesn't seem to be GMT, either. I can't figure out what time it really is. (sigh)
ETA - Maybe it really is GMT. This posted five hours ahead of my time, which would be correct. Whatever. It's just confusing to me when I've got friends in several different time zones, and I"m trying to figure out what time of day THEIR post was posted, in relation to wherever the fuck I happen to be at the moment... being able to set the time stamp to my local time would soothe my savage beastie...
I don't think I understand why this is so important to you.. i mean.. you post check your clock calculate the time difference, etc, etc, you should be able to figure it all out without have to change the time stamps for the site.
But then again time zones and all the crap confuse me..
I'm confused. Which timestamp are you referring to? For me, in the forums themselves, the time is right. In the person's profile, on the list of their last ten posts, it's three hours behind, or Pacific Coast Time. But if I can't figure that out on my own, all I have to do is go look at the actual post, and I can see when it was posted.
My last post shows as having been posted at 7:43:07 PM. The actual time here, Miami time, was 2:43 PM. Pacific time would have been 11:43 AM.
So I must be posting through a time warp, because there no way I posted it at 7:43PM Pacific time - that would have been 10:43 PM. Right now, here where I am, it's nearly 8 pee em on Monday night. When I click "submit", I'll wager that the time stamp on my post shows 1:00 AM, Tuesday morning, or thereabouts.
The forum software really isn't that clever MNP.
I'll ask Gav to take a look when he gets a chance. He's very busy in the real world, started a new job yesterday.
