Contest Suggestion

I've looked through the forums, and this seems the likeliest place to make this suggestion. If it's not right, feel free to move it to a better home.

I know that "fan fiction" is not allowed on the site. But writing with somebody else's characters and settings can be, creatively speaking, very stimulating. I think that having a contest based on this concept, (that is, based on the same characters and settings) with the freedom to 'ship at will, would be a ton of fun.

Of course, the powers that be would have the task of finding/creating said characters and settings. Maybe that could be a community event as well.

Thoughts?

Interesting idea, and would likely be a tricky writing challenge.

We've found over the years, that the more difficult the contest, the fewer entries we have, so this is likely to be a non-starter I'm afraid!
