I receive notices for groups through my email account associated with Lush. I've never received a notice through Lush's private mail service. Perhaps you need to adjust your settings.
Go into Settings then Settings/Privacy. You can scroll down to the Email Notifications area. You can then check the relevant boxes you desire. I've included a picture.
As you can see, I've checked the boxes for Discussion comments, and new discussions. I hope this helps.
