I have never been to a pride celebration. They don't exist in the arse end of the desert. Lovins and human beins were possibly precursors. They certainly were gatherings of the different, celebrating our togetherness. The most important actions were the hugs.

I have to get my hugs, and shoulders to cry on, on Lush. If anyone wants to talk or listen I'm here.

Pride is truly one of my best experiences in life. Even when I was back home, I had a friend whose birthday was on June 1st and we would go to the parade to celebrate, even if it meant a 2 hour drive. I think we should do something similar on lush next year. Not sure how, but I'll try to figure it out.

Is it possible to feel a hug if you read one...let’s see, give this a try

The friendship hug

Walking up to you, standing...face to face, a soft smile...arms extended, slightly raised. You step in closer, arms open, but lower...leaning in as an embrace begins. Arms move together...wrapping round your back, covering shoulders, as your arms reach round and up me....chest pressed to chest....ear to ear, chin on each shoulder...a deep breath inhaled...then released slowly, with a soft sigh...eyes closed, breathing softly, while feeling cocooned in warm acceptance...a smile scrolls across your face...the scent of woodsy cologne on fresh cotton linen rises to lock in the moment ...hands softly rubbing your back, eyes still closed...I hug you slightly closer...you breath in...slowly....then release, your heart rate slows as comfort builds....
...feeling better now, smiles...
