New Feature: Followers Alert

Just a quick message to those of you who write. Gav has just set it up so that we can send emails to all our followers. This is ideal for co-writing as only the publisher's followers get notified.

Just add @followers as the address and it works.

Hmm, is there a way to opt out of such mailings? I use the follow feature as a way to bookmark profiles that have for instance nice image galleries, not to register for their mailing list.

I don't follow a lot of people so I guess won't get many of these. Maybe I'll start using follow more.

I'd rather have my list of friends back when composing a message. I'm not sure I'm understanding the feature. Can't a follower already opt to get message notifications? And how does it work for co-writing? Why would you need a followers list for that?

The followers of the person posting the story will be notified, but not those of the co-author. This feature can be used for that.
