New "Featured Members" box to be displayed on the main page

We are still playing around with the formatting, but will be adding a "Featured members" box to the front page.

It will change periodically (perhaps daily, we're undecided), and is currently based on the number of profile views the person has over the previous 7 day period.

We might make it based on a few other factors too, for example:

- new story submitted
- forums posts / participation
- profile activity (bio / images / videos etc filled out)

I was thinking about the stories also, but since it's the home page all the recent stories are right there. I do like the bar a lot and was pleasantly surprised the first time I saw it. Great idea!

Not sure why this is necessary. Regarding authors standings or new stories, it is already there on the front page. Is it for popularity of someone, regardless of their writing - meaning chat champ or forum poster?

Can one opt out of being included the line up the goes in front of the Friend Finder posting (cuz I don't want to be associated with the Friend Finder! lol)?

Since there are story listings on the main page, I don't see it being as necessary for that, but I do think it is a good way to promote the people here on this site. This has become a social networking site, so it makes sense that the people of the site other than writers get a mention. There are many people who contribute a lot to this site without ever writing a story; whether as readers, in the forums, or even just chatting, helping to make lush the community it is. Those people deserve to be recognized too.

Precisely the idea Jebru. A lot of people are regulars in the chat rooms, in the forums posting interesting threads, in profile areas etc, it is mainly to give others a look-in as it were.

It isn't meant to be a "featured authors" block.

Looks like an opt-out option in privacy settings is called for.

Well they have pics of girls that I also found on other websites. And those type of pics tend to be pretty professional and of young hot girls so that explains why they get a lot of profile views.

Well I can send you a link which shows one of the featured members on 11 other websites. The names of those websites range from www.youngnudegirls.net to filefap.com.
Perhaps all those girls who have similar pics post "their" pics on all those adult websites but I'd doubt that.

Earlier today I discovered a supposedly 23 y/o lush girl who was very clever in not using pics than can be easily backtraced to other websites. But "her" youtube video on her profile led to a youtube user with an age of 61.

I realize I'm a bit obsessed with flushies but I find it rather unfair to the people who actually post pics of themselves on this website. Pretty much anytime you see some young hot teen pics on a profile you can backtrace them to other websites which are often adult sites.
Using such pics to create attention and popularity while it may in reality be some guy chatting up other horny lush guys is perhaps a bit funny but also sad.

We all remember taintedrainbow and there was much amazement and amusement once she was uncovered. But her downfall was that she accidentally posted a famous picture on this board claiming to be herself. Almost none of those other flushies are active on this message board.
