Please do not add a Lushstories.com watermark to any images which you do not own the rights to / have permission to use. You will be in breach of copyright laws.

We do not encourage or endorse such activity.

Don't air brush or typeset the letters - LUSHSTORIES.COM onto any photo you do not own the rights to, Mami.

It generally means - unless you snapped the photo yourself, etc...

We are not allowed to pull photos off the internet from another source and put Lushstories.com watermark 'name' on top of them.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
If you use images in the public domain, that is fine. Establishing if they are or are not in fact in the public domain is another issue.

Just because you find the images on google image search for example, and they do not have a copyright mark on them, it doesn't mean they are public domain.

It's a very tricky law.

Here is some more information on the subject: http://heartifb.com/2009/02/09/blog-photos/

I will look into it more this week. If anyone is an expert in this field, I'd like to hear from you.

Thank you WMM I was wondering myself. Now I learn something new.
Technically, if you didn't shoot the picture, or have paperwork that gives you rights to use the picture, or if it is not in the public domain, You should not use it period. There are exceptions about editorial and educational usage (and parody) but I doubt that cross posting in a forum is covered by any of these "fair use" provisions. I am not an expert but I would be willing to guess that 90% of the photographs that are posted in the image forums are not safe.

Then again, I doubt that the Internet police are going to break down Lush's doors and over filed DMCA notices for electronic theft. If however, Lush acts as a clearing house for these photos; as a middle man that facilitates the movement of these copyrighted works, that would be a problem.

The question is: Does Lush want to continue to fly under the radar (if that is what we are doing) or does it want to be completely above board?
Thanks NobeUddy, that's how I understand it too.

In that case, every forum on the web would be cleared of 90% plus of images posted, correct?

Pretty much. It is so prevalent, that unless they wanted to make an example of you, (possible), you would probably get a series of "take down" notices from a lawyer. Again I am not an expert here. This is just my experience from people who have riped off my illustration and posted it on their sites. Oddly enough if they ask and give a link back to my site, I don't have much problem with them using the web shots. I get random traffic, I get in-bound relevant links, I am indexed more often, and it raises my Google profile. I just get bent out of shape when they don't ask.
