I was replying back to the message I got from lush member, "ali2teaseu" but when I send it, it says that she is no longer a member. She is the one that rejected the story I submitted because she said I did not have spaces between my periods.
Well, I have a bit of advice for the site. When I submitted this story, I saw that it had changed on the submit page and the window where one places the story looks like Microsoft Word now. When I copied and pasted it there, and read over it, I saw there there were no spaces between the periods and sentences. I edited it then to fix that problem. After I previewed it, I saw how there were no spaces between the periods, again, so I went back in to edit it again and even put an extra space in between the period and sentence. I then previewed it again, and it was the same way; so I went back in to edit it again. Once I previewed it again, it still showed the periods were not spaced correctly. I decided to send it because I figured it was a fluke with the system.
When I logged on to the site to see if it had been posted yet, I received the message from member "ali2teaseu" and read her message.
I went back in to edit my story as I did before, but it is still doing the same thing. Even after I still edit it.
So, maybe you all need to revisit the page on where you submit the story. I edited it, put two spaces between the periods and the sentence, and it still came out wrong.
I was an English major and have a Bachelor degree in English, and I am very self conscious about things like this.
I am sorry if I sound upset, but I know this time, it was not my fault that the story I sent for publication was rejected because the system messed it up!

Having read some of your other stories, there is no doubt in my mind whatsover that this new story is equally as well written, thoroughly enjoyable and a pleasure to read.
Sensual, I just went through and did an edit of your story. I added the spaces after all the periods (atleast I think I did) and approved it. It looks good now, but I do think it is a glitch with the site. Something else to have Gav take a look at.

We really want all the stories to look good like that and appreciate the effort you made, Sensual.
Hi SD,
I've just done a test myself, and there seems to be a glitch with the new submission software we're trialling. It is sometimes putting spaces before a period where there should never be any, and sometimes it removes the space after the period too, so the next word is bunched up.
I have sent a message to our programmer about the issue. It will go on his to-do list.
My recommendation to everyone, whenever you use a submit form on any website at all, copy your story into notepad, or another flat file format editor first, it strips the majority of invisible junk code out so that when posted, your story should look correct.

I too, have had trouble with the Lush editor, but discovered the following:
1. When using the editor, do not, repeat - DO NOT - hit enter at the end of a normal line, let the word-wrap control the width of the sentences.
2. When you have a short sentence, that would be obvious, hit "enter" and it works ok.
3. Use paragraphs for story line.
4. Use quots to signify a person speaking within the paragraph.
5. Always use a double space after normal punctuation, except the comma.
6. It's ok to use individual lines for dialog.
I think the problem is with the Avatar and adds placed on the right side when actually published.
If I'm wrong, I stand corrected, but I found it to be true during my 4 stories, which had to be edited.
I don't use "cut and paste" for those reasons.
Thanks....
Same thing happened to me when i posted my last poem, and a mod edited for me when I told him what happened. I was confused when it happened cause on my copy of the poem it was spaced just right....

The formatting issue is being worked on over the next few days.
