ps - if i have to send a story back for editing, that doubles the time it takes to verify. it's pretty simple. read through your story carefully before submitting. if there are THREE misspellings in the very first sentence, it's NOT ready for publishing.

Not my decision, but a possible argument against is that it is unfair to those who worked hard to hit the original deadline and now have to see people who may have slacked or been scrambling get in. Extending a day so the mods can catch up would be fine, but I don't think a lengthier extension is, or should be, in the cards.

I speak as someone with no stake in it, since I gave up on writing for this comp weeks ago. However, as a past entrant in comps, I do like to see things kept on a even playing field.
